Excerpt from the work in progress material. It´s showing the developement, testing and canceling of different approaches and ideas. A lot of those were shared and discussed about during calls with my contact person.

↓ concept to visualize aerosols being repelled by the mask
↓ different variants of visible light sources, this idea was discharged in order to keep focus on the mask
↓ test to inlude small hair fibres on the mask, this was removed to obtain a cleaner, more sterile look
↓ visualizing subsurface scattering working, backlight being more ore less bright depending on the fabric thickness
↓ modeled mask, extreme detail on the edges – appearing from melting together the different layers – is needed for the subsurface scattering
↓ starting to fold the mask into shape
↓ added nose clip, visible due to subsurface scattering
↓ test animation for bending the nose clip
↓ fine tuning on the model, especially on the middle seam. Subsurface scattering is making some issues as the model is colliding with
itself on some points, creating dark artefacts.

↓ further developement on the fabric material layering together different types of noise and surface maps
